Over the last 10 years Peta has completed workshops with Cash Carraway, Curtis Brown Creative, The MonoBox and the Sunday Breakfast Club, as well as being part of the Arcola Writing for Stage Group (2020). She writes poetry, plays and spoken word purely for the joy of storytelling and her love of language and words.

Starfish

Starfish explores the systemic abuse in the world of competitive gymnastics. Using music, movement, dialogue and spoken word, it relates a young girl’s journey through gymnastics training and the joys, delights, discovery and disillusion she experiences therein. In development, 2021. Testimonial: “Gosh – that was stunning writing – so evocative and poetic and touchingly observed. Huge congratulations!”

LUCY

A visceral and muscular spoken word monologue, incisively detailing one woman’s struggle to make sense of the world and her place within it. The darkly comic unravelling of a mind amid the fear of mediocrity. Performed at The Arcola, 2018. More info here.

Scrambled

Two sisters navigate the ups and downs and ins and outs of IVF. A tenderly comic two-hander exploring the emotional impact of assisted reproductive technology, motherhood and the psychological effects of infertility. Performed at LIVE Theatre Birmingham, 2017.
